Cray to build $600 million supercomputer for the US DoE
Cray has extended its contract with the US Department of Energy to include the building of a $600 million exascale supercomputer. 'El Capitan' will be housed at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and is built specifically for the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). Cray, recently acquired by HPE, has also released a new version of its Shasta supercomputing software.
