Google buys Fitbit for $2.1 billion
Google has finally completed its buyout of Fitbit. It has paid $2.1 billion for the wearables company. Apple and Samsung lead in this market and Google is looking to catch up. Fitbit’s fitness trackers monitor steps, calories and distance, with the firm recently releasing its latest smartwatch. Google said in a blog post that the acquisition "brings together the best AI, software and hardware".
