Google Cloud powers new pi world record
A team at Google has broken the world record for the most accurate value of pi. Emma Haruka Iwao (pictured) used the Google Cloud-powered Google Compute Engine to calculate the value, the first time cloud has driven this task. It took 170TB of data, 25 virtual machines and 121 days to complete. The world record length includes 31 trillion digits. Google announced the news on Pi Day.
